1. Our offering  should be based on a NEED.

Let them construct a sanctuary for Me, that I may dwell among them.  "They shall know that I am the Lord their God who brought them out of the land of Egypt, that I might dwell among them; I am the Lord their God.   Exodus 25:8;29:46

For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though He was rich, yet for your sake He became poor, so that you through His poverty might become rich.  2 Corinthians 8:9

They said to me, "Those who survived the captivity are in great distress and reproach, and the wall of Jerusalem is broken down and its gates are burned with fire. Nehemiah 1:3

For Macedonia and Achaia have been pleased to make a contribution for the poor among the saints in Jerusalem.  Romans 15:26

Likewise urge the young men to be sensible.  Titus 2:6

2.  God should always be the object of your GIVING

Tell the sons of Israel to raise a contribution for Me. "He who sacrifices to any god, other than to the Lord alone, shall be utterly destroyed  Exodus 25:2;22:20

"Will a man rob God? Yet you are robbing Me! But you say, 'How have we robbed Thee?' In tithes and offerings.  "You are cursed with a curse, for you are robbing Me, the whole nation of you.
Malachi 3:8,9

All the offerings of the holy gifts, which the sons of Israel offer to the Lord, I have given to you and your sons and your daughters with you, as a perpetual allotment.  Numbers 18:20

3.  As Christians, we are REQUIRED to give God our best.

"And this is the contribution which you are to raise from them: gold, silver and bronze,  blue, purple and scarlet material, fine linen.  Exodus 25:3,4

Honor the Lord from your wealth, And from the first of all your produce;  So your barns will be filled with plenty. Proverbs 3:9

You shall bring the choice first fruits of your soil into the house of the Lord your God. Exodus 23:19

Ananias, together with his wife Sapphira, also sold a piece of property.  With his wife's full knowledge he kept back part of the money for himself, but brought the rest and put it at the apostles' feet.  Then Peter said, "Ananias, how is it that Satan has so filled your heart that you have lied to the Holy Spirit and have kept for yourself some of the money you received for the land? Acts 5:1-3

For I testify that they gave as much as they were able, and even beyond their ability. Entirely on their own, but they gave themselves first to the Lord and then to us in keeping with God's will.  2 Corinthians 8:3,5

4. Your desire for this work has to come from WITHIN your heart.

Take from among you a contribution to the Lord; whoever is of a willing heart, let him bring it as the Lord's contribution: Exodus 35:5

and everyone who was willing and whose heart moved him came and brought an offering to the LORD for the work on the Tent of Meeting, for all its service.  Then all whose hearts moved them, both men and women, came and brought gold,  And all the women whose heart stirred them; the Israelites, all the men and women, whose heart moved them to bring material for all the work.  Exodus 35:21,22,26,29

Each man should give what he has decided in his heart , not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. 2 Corinthians 9:7

NOTE: Read Exodus 36:5-7, see how God will provide if we all worked together as a  New Life church family.
