SCRIPTURES:
Mark 14:1-11; Matthew 26:6-13; John 12:1-8
So in
everything, do to others what you would have them do to you. Matthew 7:12
Do not
neglect to show hospitality to strangers, for by this some have entertained
angels without knowing it. Remember
the prisoners, as though in prison with them, and those who are ill-treated,
since you yourselves also are in the body.
Hebrews 13:2-3
Therefore, as
we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who
belong to the family of believers. Galatians 6:10
1. Give
the very BEST you can give.
While he was
in Bethany, reclining at the table in the home of a man known as Simon the
Leper, a woman came with an alabaster jar of very expensive perfume, made of
pure nard. She broke the jar and poured the perfume on his head. Mark 14:3
From what you
have, take an offering for the LORD. Everyone who is willing is to bring to the
LORD an offering of gold, silver and bronze;
Exodus 35:5
Then God
said, "Take your son, your only son, Isaac, whom you love, and go to the region
of Moriah. Sacrifice him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains I
will tell you about. Genesis 22:2
2. Acts of
Kindness should be motivated by your LOVE for God.
The poor you
will always have with you, and you can help them any time you want, but you will
not always have ME. Mark 14:7
And whatever
you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving
thanks to God the Father through him. Colossians 3:17
For the Son
of Man came to seek and to save what was lost." Luke 19:10
They have
told the church about your love. You will do well to send them on their way in a
manner worthy of God. 3 John 6
3. One should
not PROCRASTINATE when it comes to
Acts of Kindness.
She has done
what she could; she has anointed My body beforehand for the burial. Mark 14:8
Do not
withhold good from those who deserve it,
when it is in your power to act.
Do not say to your neighbor,
"Come back later; I'll give it tomorrow"--
when you now have it with you.
Proverbs 3:27,28
Do not hold
back the wages ( kindness) of a hired man overnight. Leviticus 19:13b
Then Jesus
told them, "You are going to have the light just a little while longer.
John 12:35
As long as it
is day, we must do the work of him who sent me. Night is coming, when no one can
work.. John 9:4
"Therefore
keep watch because you do not know when the owner of the house will come
back--whether in the evening, or at midnight, or when the rooster crows, or at
dawn. Mark 13:35
4. Acts of
Kindness will never go unnoticed or
UNPAID.
I tell you
the truth, wherever the gospel is preached throughout the world, what she has
done will also be told, in memory of her. Mark 14:9
Therefore, my
dear brothers, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to
the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in
vain. 1 Corinthians 15:58
Show love and
kindness to everyone, not only to
those who are good and gentle, but also to those who are unreasonable.
For this finds favor God. Colossians 2:18,19
CONCLUSION
"Then the
King will say to those on his right, `Come, you who are blessed by my Father;
take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the
world. For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you
gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in,
I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me,
I was in prison and you came to visit me.'
"Then the righteous will answer him, `Lord, when did we see you hungry
and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink?
When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and
clothe you? When did we see you sick
or in prison and go to visit you?'
"The King will reply, `I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the
least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.'
Matthew 25:34-40
