"Behold, I have seen a son of Jesse, who is a skillful musician, a mighty man of valor, a warrior, one prudent in speech, and a handsome man; and the Lord is with him. 1 Samuel 16:18

 

And from the Gadites there came over to David in the stronghold in the wilderness, mighty men of valor, men trained for war, who could handle shield and spear, and whose faces were like the faces of lions, and [they were] as swift as the gazelles on the mountains.   1 Chronicles 12:8

 

DAVID MEN OF VALOR: All those who were in distress or in debt or discontented gathered around him, and he became their leader. About four hundred men were with him. 1 Samuel 22:2

 

VALOR: Wealth, virtue, mighty, strong, valiant, worthy.

 

1.  One who has been changed by the power of the _________.

 

And when the centurion, who stood there in front of Jesus, heard his cry and saw how he died, he said, "Surely this man was the Son of God!  Mark 15:39

 

The centurion, seeing what had happened, praised God and said, "Surely this was a righteous man.  Luke 23:47

 

He saved us, not on the basis of deeds which we have done in righteousness, but according to His mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewing by the Holy Spirit.  Titus 3:5

 

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come.  2 Corinthian 2:17

 

2. One who is unashamed of the __________ God in their lives.

 

Now when the centurion saw what had happened, he began praising God, saying, "Certainly this man was innocent.  Luke 23:47

 

Now the centurion, and those who were with him keeping guard over Jesus, when they saw the earthquake and the things that were happening, became very frightened and said, "Truly this was the Son of God! Matthew  27:54

 

For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes,  Romans 1:16

 

O my God, in You I trust,  Do not let me be ashamed;  Guard my soul  Do not let me be ashamed, for I take refuge in You.  Psalm 25:2, 20

 

 

7. There should be a reward.

 

What good is it for a man to gain the whole world, yet forfeit his soul?  Mark 8:36

 

Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day--and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing.  2 Timothy 4:8

 

“His master replied, `Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master's happiness!'  Matthew 25:21

 

8.  There should be a new behavior.

 

and do not give the devil a foothold.  He who has been stealing must steal no longer, but must work, doing something useful with his own hands, that he may have something to share with those in need.  Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths,  Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice.  32  Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.  Be imitators of God,  Ephesians 4:27-29,31;5:1

 

you there must not be even a hint of sexual immorality, or of any kind of impurity, or of greed, because these are improper for God's holy people.  Nor should there be obscenity.  ...and live a life of love.  Ephesians 5:3,2
