Oh heavenly Father, another year has pass
And there's so much we have learn
You never took your eyes off us once
No matter which way we've turn 

2008 was a tab bit tempting
And we fought not to give in to it
We tried to follow the steps you prepared
And hopefully done what you permit 

People waited for Christmas to celebrate
With gifts and colorful decorations
But for 366 days that year
You were our inspiration 

Now we have a whole year ahead
And our new year's prayer is this
That each day you allow us to see
Help us to acknowledge you're the reason why we exist 

We also pray for 2009
We'll continue the journey and explore
To place our thoughts on you and your ways
Just like we've done before 

Guide our steps like you'd always have
So we may keep clear of your wrath
Keep the light well lit under our feet
As we continue to walk your path
