Perserverance
One morning, I decided to go for a walk
And during my walk, I found a dime
I put the dime in my pocket and kept on walking
I also had other small pieces of trash in my pocket to throw away
When I had finished my walk and got home
I took the trash and the dime from my pocket
I put both in the same hand not realizing it and toss it in the garbage
I said to myself, oh it's just a dime and
I put it out my mind and walked away
But the thought of finding that dime kept tugging at me
And I decided to search through the trash for it
I opened the lid of the garbage can
And notice all the mess that was piled up to the rim
I saw paper, food all sorts of nastiness in that garbage can
I started going through it with my bare hands
Mess started to accumulate on my hands and I decided to stop
I said it isn't worth it
But the thought of that dime kept tugging at me
I said I am going to get that dime
I went to get a pair of disposable gloves and put them on
Got another garbage bag so that I can
Use it to place all that trash in it
I pulled out the trash piece by piece
The disposable gloves was nasty
But I kept going until I got close to the bottom
I saw the dime, but because of its size, it fell through
I kept going until I could see the bottom of the trash can and the dime
I pulled it out and laid it on the dryer
A dime that was only ten cents alone
But together help make a dollar
I didn't quit when I wanted to and didn't give up until I had the prize
THE MESSAGE IN THIS IS
The bare hands is us doing it our way, the gloves is God's, protection
When we accept Jesus as Lord and Savior of our lives
Things are not always going to be peaches and cream
But if we know that what we have is the best
And there is nothing better
We will go through hell and high water to get it and keep it
And no matter how much mess the world puts out
Going through the trash only to get the prize is worth it
GOD
